PETALING JAYA: PKR’s Ahmad Farhan Fauzi has been appointed as the new Pahang Pakatan Harapan chairman, as the coalition reshuffles its state leadership ahead of the 16th general election.
The appointment was announced at Pahang PH’s annual general meeting today, with DAP’s Lee Chin Chen and Amanah’s Fadzli Ramly named as deputy chairmen, respectively, Bernama reported.
Pahang PKR information chief Suhaimi Ibrahim, was appointed secretary, while PKR election director Sim Chon Siang takes on the treasurer’s role.
The remaining lineup sees Adnan Lazim (PKR) as election director, Ibrahim Sulaiman (Amanah) as communications and information director, and Rizal Jamin (PKR) as strategy director.
Pahang PH said in a statement the new leadership was expected to strengthen the organisational structure of the state chapter and ensure work at all levels was carried out in a more focussed and people-centric manner.
The secretariat said today’s meeting also outlined several key agendas, including mobilising component parties across all constituencies to ensure readiness for GE16, and lending support to PH’s campaign machinery in the coming Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections.
“PH will continue to focus on strengthening relations between the leadership and the grassroots, enhancing machinery readiness, and expanding information work and community service throughout the state,” it said.
