Thousands of people were demanding that Netflix donate proceeds from a recent comedy event to George Floyd's family after MAGA comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made a "racist and cruel joke" about Floyd's murder, according to a report from The Daily Beast on Friday.
Hinchcliffe was among several comedians performing at the streaming giant's "Roast of Kevin Hart" special when he told Hart the following: “The Black community is so proud of you…right now George Floyd is looking up at us all laughing so hard he can’t breathe.”

Floyd was killed on May 25, 2020, when Derek Chauvin, a white police officer, put his knee on Floyd's neck while Floyd said, "I can't breathe."
The phrase became common in protests and public campaigns against racism and police violence.
Now, just a few days from the sixth anniversary of Floyd's death, more than 10,000 people have signed a MoveOn Civic Action petition calling for Netflix and Hart to donate proceeds from the comedy event to the Floyd Family Center for Social Equity. Floyd's family created the nonprofit after his death.
"To hack comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, George’s murder is a joke. Literally," the petition reads.
