Teen pleads guilty to exposing himself to mother after watching porn

PETALING JAYA: A 17-year-old teenager pleaded guilty in the Batu Pahat magistrates’ court today to two charges of committing indecent acts against his mother, including exposing himself to her.

The accused entered his plea after the charges were read to him in Mandarin by an interpreter before magistrate Arun Noval Dass, reported Harian Metro.

Under the first charge, he is alleged to have insulted the modesty of his 43-year-old mother by demanding that she perform a sexual act on him at a house in Batu Pahat at about 5pm on June 1.

He was charged under Section 509 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both.

The teen was also charged with committing an act of gross indecency against his mother at the same location, date and time.

He was charged under Section 377D of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of two years’ imprisonment.

According to the facts of the case, the accused became sexually aroused after watching pornographic videos in his bedroom, and approached his mother, who was taking a bath.

He knocked on the bathroom door and asked her to open it. Upon opening the door, his mother found the accused with his trousers removed, demanding that she perform a sexual act on him.

Shocked, she retreated into the bathroom and locked the door from inside.

She later lodged a police report at the Batu Pahat police headquarters.

The court allowed bail of RM1,500 and set Aug 19 for the presentation of a character report by the social welfare department along with the sentencing order.

However, he was remanded at the Muar correctional centre to await further proceedings as he was unable to post bail.

The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Firdaus Ruslan while the accused was represented by lawyer Tan Song Yan from the National Legal Aid Foundation.
