TSLA Stock Slips As Musk Outlines New FSD Voice Plans

TSLA stock has fallen more than 2% this week as traders track Tesla’s AI and autonomy updates. The move puts the shares on pace for a red finish in the holiday-shortened week.

Musk shared the latest FSD update after an X user compared the idea to speaking with an Uber driver.

The same post also proposed instructions like, “Drop us off right here, we’ll walk due to traffic.” It also suggested asking the car to stop near an entrance before parking farther away.

His comment pointed to natural-language controls for FSD instead of only touchscreen navigation.

The planned feature would let drivers adjust routes, stops, and drop-off points during a trip. It would also connect Tesla vehicles more deeply with Musk’s Grok AI system.

In February, Musk said Tesla was already working on voice prompts for FSD. He said owners could guide parking choices through spoken requests.

Those examples included asking the car to stop near an entrance. They also included choosing a quieter parking spot away from busy areas.

Tesla FSD Scrutiny Continues As Parking Features Advance

Late Wednesday, Musk said future FSD releases would remember preferred parking spots at regular destinations. He mentioned homes, offices, and school drop-off areas as examples.

Musk said destination parking remains the main reason drivers intervene while using FSD.

Tesla still faces regulatory pressure over FSD performance in certain driving conditions. In March, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration expanded its investigation into the software.

The agency acted after reviewing more crashes tied to reduced-visibility conditions. Regulators raised concerns about camera visibility detection and driver alerts.

The NHTSA probe expanded from four crashes to nine crashes and remains open. The review focuses on whether FSD gives drivers enough time to respond.

Tesla also faces a consumer lawsuit in China over FSD claims. A Beijing court held its first hearing last month in the case.

Ten Tesla owners seek more than 3.95 million yuan, or about $583,000, in damages. They allege Tesla overstated FSD capabilities, while Tesla says some features work and others remain under development.
