PETALING JAYA: Johor’s caretaker menteri besar, Onn Hafiz Ghazi, has dismissed claims that uneven development in the state has forced residents to migrate elsewhere, stressing that development across all districts is guided by a comprehensive plan.
The Johor Barisan Nasional chairman said the state’s development framework was guided by the Johor Economic Transformation Plan, with emphasis on addressing the unique socioeconomic priorities of each district equitably.
He said Johor’s steadily improving macroeconomic performance was being translated into welfare assistance to ensure that all Johoreans benefitted from the state’s prosperity.
“I am confident that as Johoreans witness the state economy’s growth, they will genuinely feel its benefits, particularly through the Kasih Johor assistance initiative.
“The claims being spread by certain parties are simply untrue,” Bernama reported him as saying after a community engagement programme in Parit Raja today.
Present was Ashari Sarip, BN’s candidate for the Maharani state seat.
Onn Hafiz said development in northern Johor was also being strengthened through high-impact industrial zones, including the Maharani Energy Gateway hub.
He said the megaproject was expected to create new business opportunities and jobs, boost the local economy, and reduce the outflow of workers.
